Tactical Mortgage Processor Training
Hello my mortgage processing friends!
I'm Matthew. 18 months ago I started processing loans for my uncle, a (mortgage) broker-owner, while finishing college. Side note, does anyone ever plan on getting into the mortgage industry?? I certainly didn't.
I was shocked when one month when I made $7,500 working remote for only 10-20 hrs/week while also being a full-time student.
Then I was again shocked when I made $0 for the next two months.
The mortgage industry has lots of ups and downs. You learn to live with them.
Anyway, after graduating college, I took on some more mortgage brokers and process their loans as well. I'm almost 1 year in since then. So, still a novice in the space (many processors have 10+ yrs experience).
The great thing about contract processing compared to W2:
- you can work remote
- you can make way more $
- you can work on your own time
- you can own your own business
- you can choose which clients to work with
- you can scale up and down with volume
- you can have a full-blown business, or it can be a side hustle (although it still takes work to get there)
The sucky things:
- more ups and more downs, aka less stability
- responsibility needs to be even higher (making sure you're hitting deadlines, etc)
- what else? I'm sure there's other sucky things about the contract processing side. Ah yes! You have to go find brokers to work with.
I created this product because there is no way I could have learned what I did without some help. But unfortunately, almost all the "help" in this industry comes from reaching out blindly to someone who's been doing it for a long time.
I was fortunate enough to have some great mentors that answered my questions, join some stellar processing FB groups, and ask my uncle a bunch of questions.
Now that I'm growing my business and training an assistant, I realized there weren't many good sources out there to train an assistant on.
So I started creating processes and documenting them. The goal was: TACTICAL information an assistant could take away.
And, I figured it's applicable to all contract processors, not just for training an assistant.
So... I want to give it all away for FREE! Yep, I was creating these videos anyway, so why not share them with you? Of course, there's an option to tip a few dollars if you're feeling generous, but I don't expect to make a cent.
What this training contains:
- Process map explaining what third-party processing looks like
- Reviewing basic documentation
- Good documentation-naming conventions
- Requesting third party documents
- Working with UWM (one of many lenders, but perhaps the most popular)
- Working conditions
- Daily process - order
- Communication guidelines
Who this is for:
- W2 processors looking to transition to contract processing
- People looking to get into mortgage loan processing
- Experienced processors curious how another contract processor runs their business
- Brokers, processors, or loan officers that want to train a new processor
Enjoy!
